Language

English is the official language. The major African languages are
Ibo (in the south east), Yoruba (in the south west) and Hausa
(in the north). Many people also speak Edo and Efik.
Climate
In the north it is hot and dry and the rainy season extends between
April and September.
In the south the weather is hot and wet, the rainy season is from
March to November.
From December to March there is a long dry season, but there is
the cooling Harmattan blowing off the desert, along the coast it
is very humid throughout the year.
Geography
The two most important economic activities of Nigeria are its oil
deposits and agriculture, drilling of the oil takes place in the
Niger delta, the crops of the north are mainly ground nuts, cotton,
sugar cane, rice, wheat and tobacco, in the south the most important
crops are cocoa, rubber, palm oil and kola nuts, crops from the
centre are beniseed, ginger and yams, the north has livestock.
