Kenyan Shilling divided into 100 cents.
* Credit Cards:
Visa, Mastercard, Access, American Express and Diners Club are acceptable in tourist centres at most good hotels, restaurants, gift shops etc.
* Banking hours:
0930 to 1730 Monday to Friday.
* Currency Restrictions:
There are virtually no currency restrictions in operation. It is inadvisable to take Kenyan Shillings out of the country as they are difficult to exchange except in neighbouring countries. Although Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda all have the shilling as a currency and used to have a joint currency, they are now distinctly different and not interchangeable.
